“If history were taught in the form of stories, it would never be forgotten.” -Rudyard Kipling

headshot for KDP siteKDP was founded by Jeff Archer, an award-winning writer at Education Week, where he focused on school leadership. His big takeaways from that experience: What happens in classrooms is key to student learning, and how leaders support teachers is key to what happens in the classroom.

Jeff left EdWeek to join New Leaders, the premier nonprofit preparation program for urban principals. As director of field learning at New Leaders, he helped build the EPIC Knowledge System, a collection of effective management practices culled from district and charter schools making outsized gains in student achievement.

Jeff started KDP as a consulting business to support education groups in sharing the lessons learned from their work to improve teaching and learning. This has included a major role in helping the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation share the lessons from theĀ Measures of Effective Teaching project, a groundbreaking study of tools for identifying and developing effective teaching. KDP partners with organizations large and small to help share their good ideas and practices for helping teachers and students achieve greater success.
